[Music] welcome to an exciting five-day boat trip down the majestic Amazon River along this journey we are taken to explore the vast landscapes that unfold along its banks where exuberant nature meets the rich culture of Riverine communities were 15 km between Tabatinga on the Triple Fronteira to Manaus each day of travel reveals a new aspect of this unique ecosystem with its dense forests diverse fauna and the mesmerizing beauty of the [Music] waters this journey is an immersion in the colors and sounds of the Amazon a celebration of life along its banks and an invitation to discover one of the most fascinating places on the planet get ready for an adventure that transports us to the heart of one of the last wild frontiers on earth [Music] [Applause] [Music] are almost 11 am I’m leaving here my Pousada today is the day the boat leaves for Manaus I’m going there to the main square of Letícia but there are still a few hours left for the boat It’s only at 4 pm the boat leaves I’m not sure It’s today, right? It says it’s 4 in the afternoon but it might only come out tomorrow [Music] [Music] I can’t believe it and I don’t even know what I’m getting myself into, man, but it’s going to be a great adventure that Roy [Music] Damn huh, look at it bro, room with air conditioning, bathroom and pole and the best part. Look at the balcony with a view of the front of the boat. The room is on the same floor as the [Music] hammocks floor. Look, the place has something in addition to the floor we have. the hammocks still have another floor that has more or spaces PR hammock that actually didn’t have that many So in fact it must still be early and many people will still arrive, we arrived much earlier but then on top of these two hammock floors there is this another floor here which is a snack bar oh [Music] we came back here on the border with Colombia to exchange money and buy some things PR trip I heard that you have to have your own plate and maybe buy some fruit also at gerum PR trip because It will be TR on which nights, you don’t know exactly, right? Interesting, you can see the difference in the Colombian asphalt on that side and on that side of Brazil [Music] Okay, we’re back in the room, we’ve settled down here, the mattress is very comfortable [Music] [Music] [Music] and finally at exactly 4 in the afternoon we are leaving towards Manaus and we no longer know the date we will arrive, right between three and four nights And along the way we will be able to know how long it really takes it’s going to last because the river is low like I told you before and it’s going to be an adventure let’s go [Music] [Music] I just took a shower here in the bathroom and the shower is right here and it falls Practically on top of the sink, no there’s a lot of space, right [Music] C [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] today, right, soup, good soup, it’s not good yet We had soup for dinner and it was very good and now I sat here in the cafeteria boat having a cup of coffee But as I’m still hungry I ordered a tapioca with egg and cheese here and now it’s 8 pm and the boat stopped here in a ravine almost an hour ago and we heard that it was because someone was sick and they had what to take out of the boat, I actually didn’t understand anything, right? Why did the boat stop in the middle? I don’t know if there’s a city nearby PR, someone to take the person to a hospital or something like that, but training is a bit Confusing, we don’t really know what’s going on. and thankfully it rained and then it cooled down it was very hot but now with this rain a lot of mosquitoes started coming man we are already sailing again [Music] now it’s 6:15 in the morning I just woke up to the boat’s horns L my boat started to honk because it’s arriving at a port here now and this is called São Paulo de Oliveira, a very small town, the idea that the river is low at this point, we, the people, have to go up there, that’s it. it’s all Rio there’s at least almost 10 m of river there it’s very low there [Music] [Music] t [Music] here is breakfast o There’s couscous papaya bread with butter and coffee Oh detail the meals are included breakfast lunch and dinner it’s depressing to see the Amazon River so low and what will become of this river if the droughts continue to be so severe [Music] [Music] like that and we are already plowing once again, it was about 1 hour and a half stopped here for people to load and unload from what I can understand, this vessel here carries a lot of supplies for the villages that are there in by the river, right [Music] [Music] [Music] take a nap and I ended up sleeping 2 hours here this movement of the boat makes me feel more sleepy it’s very good very good to sleep In this rocking of the boat [Music] l [Music] [Music ] fando I just had lunch, I had rice, beans and pasta, there was some ground meat there but I don’t like carinda, but it’s fine and now I’m drinking passion fruit juice [Music] We’re arriving in another Porto and here it’s called amaturá like most ports that the boat stops here, right, it’s going to unload and load, right, And it takes around 1 hour more It’s good that it’s raining the river [Music]
[Music] thanks and We arrived at another town and this one is called Santo Antônio do iá, it’s going to stop here more an hour or so and here we will try to go down to quickly see a little of the place and also that we need to buy a mug, we have a plate and cutlery for lunch but we forgot a mug there every time we have to drink something You have to use a plastic cup, it’s difficult [Music] we were going to go down to buy the mugs in the village but the federal police arrived and closed us down on the boat here and no one could get off they got on the boat and searched everyone here and And then they took a guy arrested to this region here, it’s very dangerous, it’s an entry route for a lot of drugs, in the end they ended up letting us get off because we’ll still be on the boat for another hour, we came here, a little market to buy Mug , back there, that’s our boat, better come back soon before we lose it [Laughter] we even saw a dolphin there in the water, incredible guy [Music] and now the boat is very empty because in the last port where it stopped, a lot of people got off and It’s empty Zão man this floor of hammocks here there are almost only these hammocks here Up there there are even less one more day on the Amazon River I even forgot I think it’s the third day today, right I’m a little confused and after breakfast it’s fine This is where we wash the moon Oh, there at these doors is the cafeteria, you know, it serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and right next door there are these sinks for washing the moonshine and Here there is plenty of drinking water and cold [Music] [Music] every This boat is becoming more and more empty and the more the days go by we get to know almost everyone on the boat, in the morning we walk around and say good morning to everyone, a really cool vibe, this boat is already there [Music] k [Music] [Music] [ Music] we are arriving more or less halfway to Manaus and this place here is practically the heart of Amazonas we are in one of the most isolated and remote areas perhaps in South America [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] and up front they already told us that there is a boat that is stranded and according to information here that our vessel will try to help them and it seems that there is already a tug There I think we’ll go straight [Music] [Music] this one is Christian, he’s from Venezuela You’re going to where Manaus I live Ah, you live in Manaus, I work, you were coming from where Tabatinga Tabatinga, are you in Peru, are you in Peru, yes, ride, ride Me Son Oh how great me son and you you have lived in Brazil for a long time you are 8 years old 8 years old is it better or not better in Brazil Brazil is better Brazil is good right it is good there is still a long time to go until Tuesday we stay Tuesday -Friday today is Sunday so it’s two more days, right two days it’s good here Brasília is much better and back here is the control room where they control the vessel [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] and the trip is going very smoothly today is the third [Music] day it’s interesting that only now I started to connect more with the place you know that’s normal it always takes a while some days, right, so we can connect with the place we’re traveling [Music] is also very interesting because we’re always moving slowly, but it always gives me peace, you know, knowing that I’m moving and the energy of this Rio is [Music] incredible and the place is also not enough just being on the Amazon River but we are in a place that is very remote, it’s very in the middle of the core of the Amazon rainforest [Music] it’s really good it’s disconnected from everything so you know how to stay some days like this full of nature in full energy of a river and it’s For a few days in the flow of this [Music] Good river completely disconnected I’m not Because there is internet here on the boat but it’s paid for when you want to use the internet here You have to buy a code it costs R$ 1 per hour so it’s not often that I’m buying internet once or twice a day [Music] like this but man just sitting like this all day long sitting looking at this big river this forest and I’m looking at the forest just imagining everything there is within it, the universe that exists within this expensive Forest and the other universe that exists beneath this water is also fascinating, the wealth that Brazil has and the wealth that this river brings us, right [Music] And yesterday afternoon there was a time when I saw there was almost the entire boat crew on one side of the boat just looking at the water so I went to see what was happening and they said they had seen a huge snake in the water swimming on the surface of the water but I didn’t get there in time to film unfortunately but I agree with reports it was really immense it makes me think how much life there is not in this water how many things we don’t even know exist under this water maybe even forms of life that we don’t even know about yet types of animals we have never seen man because this here is huge, this river is huge, the same thing I say about the Amazon rainforest, there could be more than we haven’t even discovered yet man [Music] [Music] [Music] it’s around 1500 km man From the Brazilian border there in itabatinga where we took this boat to Manaus that’s why it takes so long 1500 km is far huh [Music] [Music] [Music] imagine who lives in that little house there what a place to live huh the guy has to survive practically from fishing, right? [Music] [Music] and the river is very dry as you can see along the way we find several islands and several beaches also these beaches and Islands they form only because the river is very low, right now at this moment the boat is having have to turn around because there is a large sandbar in the middle of the river This shows that the deepest parts of the river are not in the middle, they are on the sides interesting [Music] [Music] k [Music] h [Music] another day here at this boat through the Amazon and today is the fourth day I’m here already taking my morning walk I start there on the lowest deck I walk uphill I get here at the highest part I turn around then I go all the way down Take a good walk, see you do this twice so there are the stairs it’s a good exercise and today who knows we’ll arrive there’s a comment going around that we’re going to arrive tonight but nothing is confirmed Who knows, right we don’t know And there you are, you’re my Colombian friend What do you call it, it’s there like Hugo HB letem they’re going to be my family haha good luck thank you and over time we’re getting to know everyone on the boat the guys are already becoming a family [Music] [Music] And we just received news of that it won’t arrive today on the boat, it will only arrive tomorrow afternoon, on top of that, but I’m not sad, I’m enjoying the trip, so let it take longer. Interesting, you can see by the size of the ravine there on the river, you can see the the height of the water. Furthermore, the trees on the banks of the river have a mark in them In other words, the water not only rose to the height of the ravine but also rose further and widened that entire area there, those trees in the ravine there, everything is under the water also up to the trunk, more or less there, highlighting that there is more in that ravine there or less about 5 m and more about 2 m from the mark on the tree trunk So say that about 7 m is at least below the level But they are saying that it is much more than that they are saying that reaching 10 to 12 m below and now we’re passing a part where the river is very wide, you can hardly see the other side of the river [Music] Today I sleep practically all day man, I can’t sleep anymore [Music] [Music] [Music ] [Music] dinner time I’m finally starving man and this is the last sunset on this boat trip here I was talking to the captain Today he said that this boat here has a limit of 590 people more or less but Of course, at the moment we have around 50 people, just very little [Music] [Applause] [Music] Good morning never-ending river, today we arrive in [Music] Manaus, it’s 6:30 in the morning now and there’s a long way to go little time to finish this journey to Manaus the day started a little cloudy but the happiness is a lot of est [Music] arriving walking through the conv today I started to notice that many people were better dressed like this Everyone ready and anxious for the great moment of finally arriving in Manaus There are many people I met here on this boat and each one has their own different story, their reason for traveling to Manaus and this boat is a moment in which all these stories come together for qu Days it makes us feel this way After a few days when we’re already a family, we know the world eats and talks and gets to know each other [Music] the difference in water then the black river begins and we’re on the Solimões River, isn’t it interesting how clearly the difference in water is visible [Music ] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] welcome to Rio Negro interesting how the waters don’t mix, right They are not of the same ilk h [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [ Music] h [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] go [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] we are about to arrive at the port of Manaus right here is the only vessel it’s being parked and we’re going [Music]
[Music] down Look at the height of those pillars How low the river is man That shows that it’s very low and finally in Manaus Wonderful capital of [Music] Amazonas Just think that I was on that boat there for four nights and five days man he only took a shower once no once he only took a shower twice no he took a shower twice a day in this heat there’s no way he went [Music] outside and we’re walking to a hostel called Manaus hostel a We looked on the Internet, it seems to be a place to stay and we don’t know if there will be room or not anyway we’re walking there we haven’t booked anything there [Music] right And here we are already in the hostel room and the room It has 2 4 six beds and has air conditioning but it only works from 6 in the afternoon to 9 in the morning I think PR doesn’t PR to save energy, right and a bed here in this dorm costs R95 a bit expensive that’s why we only paid for one night and who knows we’ll get another place tomorrow because at least for me the most important thing is the mattress and This mattress here isn’t good, that is, we’ll probably change places tomorrow k [Music] [Music]
