Um Barco para Santarém | 39 horas pelo Rio Amazonas
0During my extensive journey along the Amazon River, the time has come to embark on another part of this adventure, now the destination is Santaré, a fundamental part of this expedition that reveals stunning landscapes, rich biodiversity and the vibrant culture of riverside communities as the boat glides through the vast and mysterious waters of Rio, deep immersion in nature is constant, with the Amazon rainforest displaying all its grandeur and the secrets it holds, each stop along the way promises new discoveries, whether in local traditions or in the exuberance of the natural settings that make this route a truly experience. Today is the day to take a new boat to the new destination, it’s time to continue down the Amazon River and now the destination is Santaré and for this part of the trip I managed to buy a cabin instead of a hammock, right? As I’m traveling with Orlando We shared the cabin, it has two beds and that way it’s cheaper, we’re paying R400 each for this trip to Santaré which will last 36 hours. Remembering that if it was a network it would cost around R150 to R200 and the reason I prefer a cabin is not because of the comfort It’s also logical, right, but more because of the fact that my equipment, which I don’t have anywhere to store things, doesn’t just sit there lying on the floor, I have a lot of filming equipment, computer Drone and it’s difficult leave it like that lying on the ground without any security, right? So that’s the biggest reason why I’m taking a cabin, right, on these trips with the boats here in the Amazon and that’s our boat Ana Carolina, this one is the room on this boat. time on another boat that we came from over the border to Manaus, the room was much better, more space and even had a balcony with a view of the boat But that’s ok, right? At least here it’s one night, there’s only air conditioning, bathroom and the top bed, look, it’s very close to the ceiling It’s like having one in a trunk, right? Sleeping in a trunk, right ? PR hammocks as well as on the other boat, but this one is generally a little smaller, much smaller, in fact, we already left our things on the boat, we checked them and now we’re going to go here to buy some fruit, something to eat because on this boat they They charge for the meals, man, I’m already going back to the boat right, it’s worth taking some other things like fruit, for example, thank you, hey, the first floor over there with the hammocks is already full, man, and the second floor here is already full too, this one is the top part of the hammocks, which is the floor where our room is here. ok, this door here is our suite suite, right, but man, I’ll tell you this room has a musty smell and a dense air in here which is difficult to see and it’s very small, the height I have there on the top bed is very small I’m scared of hitting my head on the ceiling and we’re still waiting for the boat to leave. It hasn’t left yet. It’s already 11:30 in the morning, man, the boat was scheduled to leave at 10. They told us to get here two hours before. We got here at 8 in the morning. 11:30 and the boat is not leaving, take a look at the amount of rubbish there is on the riverbank there. Of course, the river is very low. When the river is low, we CAN see how much there is under the river. This rubbish is just sitting there, right? But in the 5 minutes that I’ve been here, I’ve seen two people throw cans from the boat straight into the river and another person who threw a whole bag of rubbish into the river in just 5 minutes that I’ve been standing here. PR, you have an idea of the lack of respect that exists towards nature, you know, people think that by throwing rubbish in the river the rubbish will disappear, I think that’s what they think, right? It’s not really possible to understand and so we are nature, we are It came from nature, it’s unacceptable to watch a scene of this person throwing rubbish into the river, you know, every 5 m there’s a rubbish bin on the boat, man, so it’s not due to a lack of rubbish, the rubbish bin on the guy’s side and the guy threw a whole bag of garbage in the river, I can’t understand this man we’re finally leaving Almost noon we’re just leaving now I’m trying to understand, you know, the psychology of a person who throws rubbish in the river when the waste basket is on their side so trying to analyze this psychology I do n’t think this has anything to do with the person being too lazy to throw it in the trash or being angry with life or nature, I think it actually has more to do with the cultural issue, if the person sees others throw trash in the river, they will consequently do it without thinking, you know, I know. I think it’s a matter of raising awareness, a matter of bringing knowledge to these people that nature is also part of us or in fact we are part of it and we are going through the meeting of the waters a few days ago when we arrived in Manaus we passed through the meeting of the waters and now we are passing through another area that leaving Manaus, right, we are leaving the Rio Negro and returning to the Amazon River and here I am at the top of the boat, there is this entire area here, oh so we can stay here contemplating this beautiful river and from up here you can see much better the boat goes so slowly but so slowly that it makes me sleepy I’ve already slept for about 2 hours and I believe if I sleep more I won’t be able to sleep at night but no There’s nothing really great, this trip like this by boat brings me such great peace, you can watch the river go by, banks of the Amazon River, it’s interesting that the sellers don’t they can enter the bar and the passengers cannot get off, right? And they Then they use this huge Bamboo that puts a little basket on the end and puts the fried bananas there and sells it to the passengers, right? From the planet 200 m discovered 1st and sometimes I see some lights very small in the middle of the darkness of the River and these little lights are Fishermen, man, fishing at night, man, in the middle of this darkness of the Amazon River, man, you have to have courage, huh, it must be very dangerous and different types of dangers, for example, this very vessel here can simply pass over a boat like that and don’t see the boat, right, or for example something else that could happen, a huge fish Jump on top of the boat and capsize the boat because I’m talking about very small boats, right, a lot of things can happen 6:30 in the morning now I just ate this breakfast here which Served and cost R 10 my opinion it costs nothing boat will stop here for a while, a few minutes, some people will get off and others will get on , probably, right, I bought it from those vendors there, I bought a really good cassava cake . this vessel here doesn’t run aground, imagine that So there’s a container ship passing through Rio, we’re fine, so stop where and it was a very quick stop here in Parentins for about 15 minutes and I realized it was just another stop to load and unloading goods more than passengers Look, right now we are crossing the border from the State of Amazonas to Pará Of course, this border is Imaginary, right? There is nothing here but I know this because I am looking at the map and from now on we are in Pará k C C a and the trip is going very slowly but it is always 5 in the afternoon and we are already very close to Óbidos where the boat will probably stop again but after there we will be very close to arriving in Santarém I think that today we arrived around 10 pm k k And we just received the news that we will arrive around 11 pm, every time we receive more news about the time it will arrive, it always takes longer, right, but that’s ok, I think the We get into this so we don’t have to rush, I think when we go on a trip like this, a boat like this, I think we have to get into it thinking and knowing that it’s going to take a long time, right? The boat goes very slowly on a trip like this. One of the things we learn for sure is to have patience and patience is a very good quality and a quality that is very difficult to obtain, right, we arrived, everything ready, bags packed, we left Santarém, let’s go We arrived in Santarém, we checked into this hotel here, it was very late Last night we arrived here it was 1 am already man because the boat arrived it was around midnight it’s already 10 am now we have a lot to explore we’re still going to see a little of Santaré today and who knows the end of the day or tomorrow we’re going to PR Alter do Chão I’ll warn you that the river is very low here too and the landscapes won’t be the same, right, but just by being here I feel the energy of the place, I’m already feeling really good and Orlando has a friend who lives here who It’s from here in Santarém and he’s showing us the city here And here we are on the edge of Santarém, this river is so big, man, it looks like a sea, you can barely see it from the other side and we’re in the dry season, his friend is tourist guide here he is saying that like every place we go here on the Amazon River, everyone says the same thing, you know, we’ve never seen a drought this big and here in front of the shore we have this street that passes through this avenue that passes through here that It’s full of old people, I didn’t imagine that Santarém would have an old architecture, you know, baroque architecture and look at the city square here, there are two lizards. Normal crazy guy, right? Two lizards in the middle of the city square and this church here in front of me. It’s the Nossa Senhora da Conceição Metropolitan Cathedral, unfortunately the church is closed, there’s no way to get in there now, curious to know what it’s like inside. This one is the historic center of Santarém. and souvenirs here and now Moisés, who is Orlando’s friend, is showing us the city here, he brought us to the fish market here in PR, so we can buy some fish to eat for lunch It’s impressive how the river has gone down here in Santarém too much man he said it ‘s the second year this has happened and it’s really mine of all the places I’ve been here along the Amazon River Santaré is being lower man That’s sad, isn’t it because the city lives off tourism, isn’t it? He’s a tourist guide here he said that tourism is suffering a lot from this Hey Moisés What is the name of the fish there is ot here ot here is the cousin of the piranhao of the cousin of the piranha for because it eats people FR carnivorous S round fish calls the round fish the one I showed there is the cabô melon he said he said it is very sweet and today we are going to take a boat tour here in Santarém to visit some islands who knows what happens during this period which is the pressure of the Atlantic on the Amazon and the Amazon on the tapaj jot right and here we stopped at the gas station for boats, it’s right in the middle of the water here and there’s also a convenience that sells various things here, well supposedly this is supposed to be a floating platform, right, but I think because the river is so low it’s Maybe because I don’t feel it move, it’s down here, dad, did they get something now, what is it? Dourado Dourado feel h h
